Kherington Lately - 32 months

Sneaking in our 32 month picture in our jammies
Our sweet and sassy big girl has been growing and learning this past month, as well as pushing her boundaries to try and figure out the limits.  Some days her rope is a little longer than other days, depending on Jared's and I's mood/patience.  We are working to be consistent with her.  But honestly we are learning right alongside her.  She is our guinea pig.  But she is a smart, fiercely independent, funny guinea pig, which makes our adventure all the more fun.
Love her contagious laugh
Being silly with her ultimate cheesing smile
Love that she loves her sis so much
Ellie is a must now for our monthly pictures
Although it seems like an eternity ago {sorry baby girl, Mama needs to get better about getting this up to date sooner}, we celebrated Halloween.  Kherington wanted to be Minnie Mouse.  She also got to sport a bumblebee costume to a couple of places.  Unfortunately, the weather was craptastic, with rain, sleet and snow - literally.  Daddy took K to two houses, but then the "rain, hit my face."

We are fully potty trained at this point!  WOO HOO!  It amazes me how seamless the transition has been.  Big props to the teachers at school.  Speaking of which, she transitioned from the Buzy Bulldozer room to the Submarines, due to the potty training!  She had a bit of an adjustment, as many of the friends stayed behind, while others transitioned to the Tugboats.  Although difficult, I think it is good for her to be pushed {safely} outside of her comfort zone to make new friends.  She is innately a shy kid, at least at first, so it is good to be pushed outside the comfort zone bubble every once in a while.

Sporting her light up Elsa & Anna watch
Speaking of being shy ... we visited Santa in Ms. Kiely's studio for Christmas pictures.  We talked about Santa for about 3 weeks prior, even telling her that Pops was going to see Santa.  She talked about it a lot.  We made a Christmas list that morning, which included the following:
1) Minnie Mouse
2) Horsey
3) Polka dots
4) Burp rag
5)  iPad
Had to lean to get even further away
Thank goodness for the cookies
She also said she wanted a pump (#nursingmamaproblems) but we decided to omit that from the list, as to not embarrass Santa.  She seemed so excited to see Santa, until we stepped through the studio doors.  "I no like Santa!"  She was not having any part of sitting on Santa's lap, so we ended up with a getting a cookie from Santa's hand and Santa hiding behind the chair picture.  Jared was frustrated, as shyness is not in his blood.  I was a realist about the situation and expected this.  Jared mentioned he thought next year would be better.  Maybe with K, but probably not with Ellie! Someday ....

In her element all dolled up
Our big girl is wildly independent, a true first born characteristic.  She loves to have a say into what she is going to wear.  Which if you ask, she always responds "a heart shirt and a tutu."  About 99% of the time we embrace whatever that it is that she picks out.  Not only does she want to pick out the shirt and tutu/leggings, but also wants to pick out the hairtie{s} and hairbows or headbands.  About once a week she insists on that she "needs a necklace."  Love your style girlfriend!  Never let anyone define that for you.  You be you!

She loves for little sis to join her in bed
Soon Ellie will be getting her
