Roberts Vegas Vacation

Jared and I were able to get away for a few days in October to head to Las Vegas.  Originally the plan was to celebrate Jared's cousin, Shelby's 21st birthday.  Unfortunately, Shelby ended up ill and couldn't make the trip.  Despite this, we had a wonderful time.  Huge shout out to Grandma and Pops for watching the girls and dealing with K being sick while we were gone.

Jared and I went out a day ahead of most and flew into Phoenix, AZ and drove up to the Grand Canyon and then onto Vegas.  Here are some photos from our drive.

We spent a couple of hours at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  It was a beautiful day and these photos do not do it justice.  The Grand Canyon is a breathtaking place and truly a work of art.

"Squirrel!"

And this is when I was glad we finalized our will before we left
And that he has life insurance

Proof we were there

The most selfies we've taken in awhile

Some foreigner shenanigans
While in Vegas, we stayed at the Monte Carlo.

We walked all along the strip, through many if not all of the other {major} resorts.  Despite not being a gambler or a huge drinker, Vegas was a ton of fun and provided some awesome people watching! :)  If I had to pick, the Bellagio was my favorite.

The second day of our trip, Jared and I, along with Brad and Sarah heading to the Hoover Dam for the Dam tour which included a lot of Dam jokes.  I was pleasantly surprised with how interesting the Dam was.  Going into it, I was not sure, but I would highly recommend it to anyone heading that way.

Had to try it - my vote = okay, but what's the fuss about?
One evening we all loaded up into a limo and headed to old town.  This is where Jared's Grandma and Grandpa stayed many, many times.  We spent the evening at The Four Queens.  The consensus from the group was that old town was awesome.  Great people watching and cheaper entertainment.  The dealers at the tables were much friendlier then on the strip.  One side note is that the air purification systems are not what they are on the strip though.  Holy smoke intake!  Despite our limo driver making us all a little green on the way home, it was an awesome evening!!

The one and only thing I had on my "Vegas bucket list" was to see a Cirque du Solei show.  After much deliberation, Jared and I decided on "O."  Simply put it was AMAZING!  The acrobatics were great but the way the stage and water were integrated and constantly evolving was the highlight.  So worth every dollar we spent .... in my opinion.  Thanks babe for a wonderful evening!

After "O" since it was our last evening we decided to visit the High Roller, a 55-story constantly moving ferris wheel.  It was a lot of fun.  We ended up skipping the pod we were supposed to go on, due to an obnoxious crowd.  Well worth the wait.  It was a great capstone to see the panoramic view of the strip!

And although our time away was amazing and well worth it, this below was the highlight of my trip.  Love those sweet little girls!
