13 weeks and counting

Believe it or not, the Roberts family is alive and doing well.  We did not fall off the side of the Earth.  I just have not taken the time to update the blog as of late.  Today Kherington is 13 weeks old!  Hard to believe.

We have been very busy recently.  Mom and Dad are starting to get into a nice routine with work, parenting, and relaxing.  Amazing how much (for the better) one little person can change your life!

We made our first trip to Indiana with Little Miss.  She did great on the way there, sleeping nearly the entire time.  I actually woke her to eat when we stopped to get some food.  She was awake for about 30 minutes looking at her farm animal friends, cow, pig, and chicken, and then dozing back off.  She did relatively well considering she was not on her turf, in her bed, and had a lot of new people looking at her and wanting to hold her.  We were in Indianapolis for cousin Shelby's graduation party (Boiler Up) and then down in southern Indiana for Aunt Jessica's graduation party.  I guess we should say Aunt/Dr. Jessica's party.

While in Indianapolis we visited Great Grandpa Arnold.  Needless to say, he was smitten with Miss K. She even shared a few smiles with him, which was sweet.

This past weekend we were fortunate enough to have Miss Kherington baptized at Mary Mother of the Church, where we have been attending since moving to PA, and also where Jared joined the church and was confirmed.  Luckily, our whole family was able to come out for the baptism.  By the whole family I mean Nana Barb, Papaw Johnny, Mamaw Lisa, Uncle Brad, Aunt Sarah, cousin Madie, Grandma Penny, Pops, Aunt Jessica, and (soon to be Uncle) Derek.  Uncle Brad and Aunt Jessica were gracious enough to be K's godparents.  She is one lucky little girl to have such wonderful people to call family.

This rocking makes me sleepy!
How can you not love her?

Yum, this finger is tasty.

Love her
Uncle Brad is teaching Madie bad habits!
The baptism went much better than anyone could ever expect from a 12 week old.  She was awake and sitting on Mom's lap at the beginning of Mass, but got sleepy.  She luckily fit into the baptismal gown that I wore.  Needless to say, it was a good thing we didn't wait any longer.  For future reference the gown has about a 12 pound baby limit!

Father Luis called us to the front and put oil on her chest - did not even flinch.  He blessed her ears to listen and her mouth to speak - did not move.  Then was the big moment, blessing with holy water on her little (or big according to Dr. Valuch, the pediatrician) head.  Man did those arms go flying up.  But the funny thing was her eyes never opened, and she never made a peep.

Blessings with the sign of the cross
Oil on K's chest
Drumroll......
And the arms shoot up!
Got rid of that ol' nasty original sin!
Love our little angel

Father Luis was so happy to have baptized another baby (400+ and counting)

We would just like to say thank you to all of our family for making the trek to PA for our little angel.  We loved having everyone here for the weekend and for everyone to get to share in Kherington's baptism.  Thank you!  We love you!
